Ontario employers may be required to display specific legislation, government posters, policies, committee information and workplace notices.

- Industry
- Number of regularly employed workers
- Hazards present
- WSIB coverage
- Whether a JHSC or health and safety representative is required

Where Should Workplace Safety Posters Be Displayed?
Post safety information where workers are likely to see it before or during the related task.
Suitable locations include:
- Health and safety bulletin boards
- Employee entrances
- Lunchrooms and locker rooms
- Equipment storage areas
- Warehouses and loading docks
- Job trailers
- Maintenance rooms
- Chemical storage areas
- First aid stations
- Digital information screens
Mobile crews can keep printed materials in a vehicle binder or site information package.
Do Safety Posters Replace Workplace Training?
No.
A poster can reinforce a rule, hazard or procedure, but it cannot confirm that a worker understands the information or can perform a task safely.
Employers must still provide the information, instruction, supervision, training and practical evaluation required for the work being performed.
