Elevating Work Platform (EWP)

Taking safety training to new heights.

What is the course?

This 8 hour course focuses on the the legal requirements of employers and supervisors to protect workers operating Elevating Work Platforms such as scissor lifts, boom lifts and vertical mast lifts.

Built to CSA B334 specifications, the course will speak to hazards and controls. It includes a practical assessment of an operators ability to use EWPs safely.

What will it teach?
Who is it for?

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify legal requirements for working with EWPs

  • Identify hazards associated with EWP use

  • Choose appropriate controls for the hazards identified

  • Safely operate an EWP

This course is primarily designed for but not limited to:

  • Supervisors that oversee workers who use EWPs (scissor lift, boom lift, vertical mast lift)

  • Workers who use EWPs

Note:

This equipment is required to be operated in conjunction with fall protection gear. Workers will be required to demonstrate competency (proof of training) in either industrial fall arrest (for industrial establishments) or Working at Heights (construction) prior to participating in the practical component of this course.
